Tables
Content may include inaccuracies, outdated information, or technical errors. Users are advised to cross-check critical information before implementation.
A table shows the elements of a model as rows and their attributes as columns. It is where many values are edited in a row and where empty fields are found.
Creating a table
Right-click an element in the model explorer and choose New representation. Pick the table in Kind, enter a Name and click Create.
Only the kinds the notation declares for this object are listed, so not every notation has a table.
A table shows the model itself. After a cell is edited, the new value appears in the model explorer, in the properties form and on every diagram with that element.
Selecting rows
- Search on the toolbar searches across all columns at once.
- Show/Hide filters puts a filter field under every heading. The mode is chosen in the menu of the filter: Contains, Equals, Starts With, Between, Empty and others, depending on the type of the column.
- A click on a heading sorts by that column, a second click reverses the order, a third clears the sorting. Sorting by a second column keeps the first, in the order they were picked.
Sorting and filters apply to the whole table, not to the current page. The number of rows on a page is set by Rows per page.
Some tables have row filters of their own, in a separate menu on the toolbar.
Editing values
Click a cell. The control depends on the attribute: a single-line field, a multi-line field, a drop-down list or a multiple-choice list. Press Enter or click outside the cell to save the value.
Cells the notation does not allow to change are read-only. In a project without write access nothing is editable.
Elements
New object on the toolbar creates an element and adds a row; the dialog lists the types this table accepts. The button at the end of a row opens the actions on the element, deletion among them.
Layout
Show/Hide columns picks the visible columns. Columns are reordered by dragging a heading and resized by dragging the border between headings. Toggle full screen gives the table the whole window.
