Importing notations

Some notations are built into the product, the rest are defined by metamodels in other projects. A project receives such a notation through an import.

A model in a notation the project does not have

  1. Open the project menu and choose New model.
  2. Enter a Name and open Model type.
  3. Pick a type that no model in this project uses yet - EIP, for example.
  4. Click Create.

The list offers the built-in types and every type published by a metamodel you are allowed to see, so a notation is available before it is imported.

Imported projects

Open the project menu and choose Project imports. The project with the metamodel is already in the list: it was added when you created the model.

An import is added by hand in advance - to use a metamodel or the images of another project, for example.

Removing an import

Remove the project from the list and confirm. A metamodel is what makes models of that notation readable, so remove the import once no such models are left in the project.
