Access to a project
Content may include inaccuracies, outdated information, or technical errors. Users are advised to cross-check critical information before implementation.
A project is open to more than its members. A reader without a role opens it when the confidentiality and clearance levels allow.
Confidentiality and clearance
A scope, a project and a model each have a confidentiality level, and a user has a clearance level. A reader without a role is given access when their clearance is not below the confidentiality of what they open.
A model cannot be less confidential than its project, nor a project less than its scope. Raising the level of a scope raises it for everything inside.
An unauthenticated visitor has clearance 0: only what is published at that level is available. Clearance grants reading alone - editing requires the role Editor or Owner.

What a person without a role sees
Send them the URL of the project. They see either the content, if their clearance is high enough, or a message saying that the project does not exist or is not available, with the button Request membership. The page does not report which of the two it is.
Membership requests
- The number of pending requests is shown on your avatar in the top bar.
- Open the user menu and choose Membership requests.
- Pick a role next to the request and click Approve.
The role is granted immediately. If no role is picked, Viewer is granted. Reject closes the request without granting anything; membership can be requested again.
